Poland Mission Review Night 2018

Apologetics for the Church

Presented at Trinity BFC on June 10, 2017 by Dr. Mark Farnham
As opposition and alternatives to the Christian faith grow, Christians need to be able to meet the challenge by being prepared with answers. Being able to defend and commend the Christian faith is the calling of every believer.

Four Pastoral Priorities in Ministry

One of the passages that has helped to shape my pastoral philosophy is Colossians 1:24-29. In this passage, the apostle Paul writes to believers in the region of ancient Colossae stating,24Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, Read more…

A Month of Missions

One of my favorite missions-related quotes is this one from Pastor John Piper:

Curtain Call for another Year of AWANA

Last night about 150 people gathered in our sanctuary to witness a ridiculously cute display which was our end of year closing program for AWANA. Parents, grandparents, and other family members and friends were treated to a mic-grabbing, memory verse-reciting, song-singing extravaganza for the 75 children that participated in our mid-week children’s ministry.  (By the way, if you’re scratching your head and wondering what “AWANA” stands for, it means: Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed; cf. 2 Timothy 2:15.)

All of the children did a fantastic job on stage as they shared through song and speech (and even a short drama, too!) with their parents what they learned from the Bible throughout the past year.  And, by the way, if you’ve never watched two adults trying to keep 10 kids under five-years old from grabbing microphones and yelling into them, then keep your Wednesday nights free next May and join us…it’s a hoot!

In all seriousness, two words of commendation are in order today. First, the Lord Himself is worthy of praise for the way that He blessed us with so many children this year!  Again, about 75 children (ages 4-12) participated in AWANA at Trinity this year.  That’s nearly double what we had the previous year!  God is so good, and we look forward to what He will do in the coming year.

Secondly, I’d also like to acknowledge the dedication and service of all the adult leaders and helpers who made this year a huge success! Special thanks goes out to Cecil Sallee (AWANA Commander), Abby Miller (AWANA Assist. Commander), Michelle Sallee, Laurie Williams, Marie Smith, Michelle Buser, Michael Brush, Jim & Nancy Fisher, Kathleen Kunkle, Kyle Mackes, Cindy Rutt, Deb Yoder, Kate Sipple, Emese Futchko, Travis & Karen Shane, Laura Jones, Nancy Miller, Debra Stout, and Louanne Kasperowicz.  Thank you all for serving Christ and the children of our church and community!

AWANA is taking the summer off. But, we will start a new year of fun and bible learning in September!  So, if you have children ages 4-12, please consider joining us on Wednesday nights in the fall at 6:30 PM for our AWANA program.  We would love to have you join us!

For more information about our AWANA children’s program and other ministries for teens and adults, please call the church office.

Remembering Pastor Alan Miller

“Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God.  Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.”
– Hebrews 13:7, ESV
Today—May 11, 2017—marks the two-year anniversary of our former pastor Alan G. Miller’s entrance into glory.  From a human perspective, Pastor Miller’s death was sudden and deeply painful.  It was a Monday—a day when pastor loved to play golf and ride

Ecclesia Reformata Semper Reformanda

Four of our men, including myself, just returned last evening from the annual meetings of the Bible Fellowship Church. The theme of the 134th BFC Conference was, are you ready, “Ecclesia Reformata Semper Reformanda.”  For those of you who were like me and opted out of 8th grade Latin, this phrase literally means “the church being reformed [must] always be reforming.”

Easter 2017 at Trinity

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4, ESV

Reflections on Shepherds’ Conference 2017

We preach Christ. This was the grand theme of Shepherds’ Conference 2017, the 44th such conference, as I understand it, to be held at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, February 28 through March 2.  This was a fitting theme for such a conference marking the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.  The apostle Paul notably said, “…but we preach Christ crucified, a
stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the
